The studio team within the Manchester Music powerhouse provide the crucial sonic backdrop to the BBC’s flagship title sequence.
Media City, 7th June, 2024 – GAS™ Music proudly announces the completion of the sound design for the highly anticipated BBC Euros 2024 trailer, which will double as the title sequence for the tournament’s broadcast. This project involved a meticulous and collaborative effort with the creative and animation teams to shape a compelling underscore. After extensive reviews of numerous bespoke and commercial tracks, the strategic decision was made to let the sound design, inspired by the dynamic environment inside a pinball machine, take centre stage and immerse the audience.
To enhance the atmosphere, a new voice-over by the renowned commentator Guy Mowbray was incorporated. Following thorough deliberations, the track “Welcome to the DDC” by Nothing But Thieves was selected as the perfect underscore to complement the visual narrative.
Additionally, post-production for all deliverables across the trailer and the title sequence was undertaken at GAS Studios, the flagship production facility that drives GAS™ Music’s production and composition activities.
Fred Rodwell, creative director for the Euro 20204 trailer and title sequence, said: “The rich, sensory pinball world we created needed to feel as tactile and authentic as possible. The soundscape GAS created instantly hurls you into every corner and crevice of the pinball machine. You come out the other side feeling reverberating from the journey you’ve just been on – just like you do with the tournament itself.”
