After a hugely successful sold out event last year, the MPA is delighted to be partnering with the inspiring Prevent Breast Cancer again this year for their month of fundraising during October. PBC is the only UK breast cancer charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing the disease for future generations.
It’s lining up to be a super-tasty, super-stylish affair with amazing food, and wonderful speakers from the Creative, Digital, Media industry as well as supporters of the charity, with the first keynote speaker announced as Emma Slater, Regional Managing Director of Wavemaker UK.
Last year Emma took guests on her journey through diagnosis and treatment to 5 years on from Breast Cancer. Now a year later, she is back to share how her cancer has unexpectedly affected her and those around her in the last 12 months. Talking about the impact of the menopause, cancer in the media and how the last year has been a reminder of how important it is to have the right people around you.
Emma has over 30 years media experience and is passionate about nurturing and developing young talent in the business. She has recently taken a position on the MPA board and is an ambassador for Prevent Breast Cancer. 6 years ago she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and although now cancer free, she wants to share her story to ensure more women are aware and catch cancer early.
This year, the special charity lunch is being hosted on Wednesday 5th October at the iconic Midland Hotel in Manchester at 12pm. The event was a complete sell out last year and the same is expected again this year.
